Petrussa Petrussa began as an osteria that, because of its size, was permitted to sell wine a specified number of days. The family’s wines became so popular that they soon became the full-time focus. Today brothers Gianni and Paolo and their wives live and work together 24/7 in the family compound to produce the farm’s celebrated vintages.
The last time we visited, Gianni’s mother-in-law was there from Trieste and made us all the most amazing cena. We also met representatives from the Orient Express who offer Petrussa wines on the luxury train that still travels in Art Deco elegance to cities like Paris, Istanbul and Venice.
Shown here is Gianni, his wife Lorena, and brother Paolo.
